How
Does Acupuncture Work?
Acupuncture
has long been used to assist people in quitting smoking. During acupuncture,
very small gauge, disposable needles are used to re-establish the
balance of energy in the body. The needles are inserted at points
that correspond to specific meridians, or energy pathways. The insertion
of these needles re-establishes the proper flow of energy within the
body. In this way, the patient's internal problems are treated using
these external meridian pathways. By manipulating the flow of energy
through the body, the acupuncturist is able to address the side effects
of smoking cessation, such as nicotine withdrawl, loss of energy,
and irritability. Acupuncture can also be combined with herbal formulas
as a two pronged approach to smoking cessation.
The
HighBalance SmokeFree system has been designed for use without
acupuncture, and by itself, is an effective way to break the smoking
habit. These formulas have been optimized for potency, effectiveness
and ease of use. Many of our customer's, however, have also reported
success in combining acupuncture with the SmokeFree system. For
those individuals who are interested, Dr. Crum is available for
acupuncture treatments as well as herbal consultations in person
or by telephone.
